The images in this lithograph are photographs I both took and found in books and magazines that documented the scenes around NYC that were burned in my mind as I remembered the towers before the tragedy, the sadness of 9-11-01, and the aftermath which unfolded. Starting from the bottom left corner you can see a panorama that I took of ground zero 6 months after the attack. The text overlay comes from an article in the NY Times that told the story of the mental anguish from survivors two years later. As a witness that day, I easily understood what they were describing and felt that more people needed to understand the effects of such tragedy. May we all find healing and peace in our hearts and minds. May justice be served. May forgiveness take place. May we never forget. May we learn to be conduits of love, not hate. Do not forget these lessons. "9/11: Two years Later", © Copyright 2003. Lithograph.
The circle at the bottom of the towers in this drawing is a symbol of how I remember the fire at the top of the North tower looking before it suddenly fell. It seemed to have a huge gaping mouth with teeth that breathed in and out. It just looked like sheer evil and I remember thinking "How many people are in there dying right now?". I didn't fully understand spiritual things when I drew this, but years later I realize that the green swoosh that I drew for the path of the planes was actually a prophetic symbol of healing. May we all find healing from the terror and tragedy of this day. May there be life again. May there be forgiveness. May we remember these lessons and stop allowing evil to thrive. Love conquers hate. The smallest amount of light still shines in total darkness. BE the light. "You Are Not 9/11", © Copyright 2003.
